Discover every corner of the region

In the Lausitz region there is so much to discover: you need to stay for a long time or keep coming back.

Zittau, which is renowned for its Lenten cloths and attracts tourists from around the world, can be reached in 10 minutes.

Enjoy a ride in the 110-year-old narrow gauge steam train between Zittau and the spa town of Jonsdorf or Oybin.

The historic 14th-century castle and monastery in Oybin are worth seeing. The romantic ruins have inspired artists such as Caspar David Friedrich and have offered a fabulous backdrop for jousting and festivals since the Middle Ages.

Jonsdorf is not just worth visiting because of the Sparkassenarena ice rink, tourists can also marvel at the large Waldbühne outdoor stage and the magnificent butterfly house.

Fürst Pückler Park, north of Görlitz, is one of the most beautiful landscape parks in the world. The park has been named as a Polish-German World Cultural Heritage Site by UNESCO. The German-Polish European City of Görlitz is one of the most beautiful cities in Germany. Well-preserved buildings in styles from Gothic to Art Nouveau create a unique flair.

Dresden is also worth a visit for visitors to the region. The Saxon capital offers a wealth of attractions, especially for culture enthusiasts.

Bautzen and Löbau are also popular destinations for travellers because of their historic town centres.

The convenient location of the holiday region means that excursions to neighbouring countries are also possible. Discover Bohemian castles and palaces, the Riesengebirge (Krkonoše) mountains, or explore Prague.
