Experience an evening full of history, music and culinary delights in the historic setting of Schlosshotel Althörnitz.
Dive into the fascinating world of 1723, when Leopold II of Anhalt-Köthen celebrated the wedding of the Hörnitz castle owner’s daughter Hartig and Johann Sebastian Bach, part of the Anhalt regent’s entourage, refined the festivities with his masterpieces.
Under the direction of the Dresden cellist Ulrich Thiem, history comes alive: He tells of alchemical experiments in the castle, secret researches and the spirit of the Baroque and accompanies the evening with music from Johann Sebastian Bach, Johann Gottlieb Graun, Georg Philipp Telemann, Antonio Vivaldi and Andreas Hammerschmidt.
The culinary experience is provided by an exclusive 4-course menu, inspired by Bach’s connection to Schloss Althörnitz – an evening that equally delights history, culture and the palate.
