Our Schlosshotel Althörnitz, nestled in the heart of the Upper Lusatia region, also feels gastronomically connected to the region. In our cozy restaurant with restored ceilings and creaking wooden floors, we not only serve a touch of castle history but also freshly prepared Upper Lusatian specialties. In the atrium of our castle, you can indulge in Italian cuisine and reminisce about an adventurous day in the Zittauer Gebirge. From 5:00 p.m., we also serve you a wide selection of drinks here, with special aperitifs and fine wines.

The hotel bar at Schlosshotel Althörnitz is a popular place for evening relaxation – throughout the Zittau area. The bar presents bar culture with the highest standards in a historic setting. Our bartender serves an exquisite selection of cocktails as well as an extensive range of whiskies. Here you can end the day in comfort and relaxation.
NOTE: Currently, the bar is closed due to renovation work until the end of January.

For Gatherings and Events
Our Schlosshotel Althörnitz offers various rooms, also for events and private gatherings. Our Salon von Hartig truly exudes history. Important discussions on the development of Meissen porcelain were once held here. For larger groups of any kind, we open this rustic room, located in the tower, and serve you culinary delights.

In fine weather, we warmly welcome you to our terrace – with a unique view of the castle park. Here you can relax in the greenery, have a meal, or simply enjoy a hot coffee with a fresh piece of cake. The terrace offers seating for approximately 35 people.

Our bright breakfast room welcomes you with a high-quality breakfast buffet. Sustainability and regionality are also very important to us at breakfast. True to the Castlewood Hotels’ philosophy: nature-connected, traditional, and familial, we try to avoid plastic as much as possible, not to waste food, and source our products locally. So we not only try to bring the region closer to you but also remain true to our values.
